Sources – Lutheran Confessions

The Latin source text for the Lutheran Confessions will normally be the Concordia Triglotta.  Occasionally, it may be the Bekenntisschriften.  The purpose of this blog is to learn Latin; the purpose is not to do textual criticism on the confessions.

Brief History

In fall 2008, a friend and fellow parishoner at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville suggested that I should send out a “Latin Word of the Day” email.  For a while that’s what I did.  I sent out one word each day.  Later, it dawned on me how difficult it is to learn words apart from their contexts, so I started emailing Latin phrases and short texts.  I kept the nomenclature ”Latin Word of the Day.”
