Haec est fides catholica; quam nisi quisque fideliter firmiterque crediderit, salvus esse non poterit

haec – this; est – is; fides – faith; catholica – catholic; quam – which; nisi – unless, except; quisque – whoever, someone (indefinite relative pron.); fideliter – faithfully; firmiter – firmly; “x”-que – and ”x”; crediderit – believe; salvus – saved; esse – to be; non – not; poterit – to be able, can

This is the catholic faith, which unless someone believe faithfully and firmly, he is not able to be saved

Athanasian Creed XXXIX

et qui bona egerunt, ibunt in vitam aeternam; qui vero mala, in ignem eternum

qui – who; bona – good; egerunt – do (perfect from ago) [German has "getan haben" - done]; ibunt – go; vitam – life; aeternum; vero – indeed, truely, it is true, (adv.); mala – evil; ignem – fire

he, who done good things, will go into eternal life; he, who indeed [done] evil things, [will go] into eternal fire

Athanasian Creed XXXVIII

ad cuius adventum omnes homines resurgere habent cum corporibus suis.  et reddituri sunt de factis propriis rationem

ad – to, toward, at [here - at]; cuius – whose; adventum – coming; omnes – all; homines – men [humans, mankind]; resurgere – rise; habent – have [obligatory - have to, must; German has "müssen" - must]; cum – with; corporibus – bodies; suis – their own; et – and; reddituri sunt – give; de – concerning; factis – deeds, actions; propriis – their own; rationem – account, reason

at whose coming all men must rise with their bodies and give an account of their own actions

Athanasian Creed XXXVI-XXXVII

qui passus est pro nostra salute, descendit ad inferos, tertia die resurrexit a mortuis,

ascendit ad coelos, sedet ad dexteram dei patris omnipotentis.  Inde venturus est iudicare vivos et mortuos

qui – who; passus est – suffered; pro – for; nostra – our; salute – salvation; descendit – descended; ad – to, into, on; inferos – hell; tertia – third; die – day; resurrexit – resurrected; a – from; mortuis – the dead; ascendit – ascended; coelos – heaven; sedet – sit; dexteram – right; dei – God; patris – father; omnipotentis – almighty; inde – thence, from there; venturus est – will come; iudicare – to judge; vivos – living; mortuos

Who suffered for our salvation, descended into hell, on the third day resurrected from the dead, ascended into heaven, sits on the right of God the father almighty.  From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

Athanasian Creed XXXV

Nam sicut anima rationale et caro unus est homo, ita deus et homo unus est christus

nam – for; sicut – just as; anima – soul, spirit, breath; rationalis – rational; et – and; caro – flesh, body; unus – one; est – is; homo – man; ita – thus

for just as a rational soul and body is one man, thus god and man is one christ

Athanasian Creed XXXIV

unus omino, non confusione substantiae, sed unitate personae

unus – one; omino – altogether, completely; non – not; confusione – confusion, co-mingle [from "confundo" - to mix together, mingle together, to blend : "confusion" not in sense of "beyond understanding"] [German here has "vermengt" - "mix, blend"] ; substantiae – substance; sed – but; unitate – unity; personae – person

one altogether, not by a mixing of the substance, but by the unity of the person

Athanasian Creed XXXII

Qui licet deus sit et homo, non duo tamen, sed unus est christus

qui – who; licet – usually “it is permitted”, here – from its use with a subjunctive, “sit,” comes its use as a conjunction “although” [German has "wiewohl"]; sit – is (subj); homo – man; non – not; duo -two; tamen – nevertheless; sed – but; unus – one

who although he is god and man, nevertheless he is not two, but one christ

aequalis patri secundum divinitatem, minor patre secundum humanitatem

aequalis – equal; patri – to the father; secundum – according to; divinitatem – divinity; minor – less than, inferior; patre – father; humanitatem – humanity

equal to the father according to [his] divinity, inferior to the father according to [his] humanity

perfectus – perfect, complete; deus – god; homo – man; ex – from, of; anima – soul, breath [English cognates: animal, animation]; rationali – rational; et – and; humana – human; carne – flesh, body [English cognate – carnal; subsistens – subsisting, “stand together / existing together”

perfect god, perfect man, of a rational soul and human flesh subsisting

Deus ex substantia patris ante saecula genitus, et homo ex substantia matris in saeculo natus

ex – from, by; ante – before; saecula – ages, centuries; genitus – born, begotten; et – and; hom0 – man; natus - born

God from substance of [his] father begotten before the ages, and man from the substance of [his] mother born in [this] age
